The Linda L. Vladyka Breast Wellness Foundation hosts Play for a Cure Oregon, an adult, slow pitch softball tournament held each August in Salem, Oregon to raise money for and awareness of breast cancer. The money raised from this event, the youth tournaments and other events throughout the year are donated to the Vladyka Fund at Salem Health Foundation. This fund provides emergency financial aid to breast cancer patients receiving treatment at Salem Health. We also make an annual donation to Oregon and S.W. Washington Komen for the Cure – Toni Mountain Fund. This fund provides emergency financial aid to breast cancer patients in rural parts of Oregon.
Play for a Cure Oregon is a fundraising tournament. Teams find fun and creative ways to raise money such as garage sales, car washes, bottle and can collections, t-shirt sales, bat raffles and others.
